Pass of Birnam to Tay Crossing

Subject to completion of statutory processes, dualling the 5.2 mile (8.4 km) Pass of Birnam to Tay Crossing project will include new grade-separated junctions at Birnam and Dalguise, an at-grade roundabout at Dunkeld and a left-in/left-out junction at The Hermitage. A replacement car park with underpass will provide improved access to Dunkeld and Birnam train station.

The estimated total scheme cost for this project is £478m at April 2023 prices. This estimate will be updated following development and assessment of the preferred option.

The preferred route option for this project was developed using an innovative co-creative process with the local community and was announced on 20 December 2023.
